Born in Argentina, Celeste De Palma’s passion for dance crossed international borders, and allowed her to explore dance from different angles throughout her life. Celeste’s first encounter with dance was at the young age of 7, when she started her career as a professional Rhythmic Gymnast, which included an extensive training in ballet, jazz and gymnastics. Celeste’s gymnastic career lasted 8 years, during which she competed representing Buenos Aires, her natal province, in country-wide competitions winning first place on numerous occasions.
When moving to the U.S. at the age of 15, Celeste traded her beloved gymnastics’ shoes for baggy clothes and sneakers to get into her school’s dance team, where she re-discovered her passion for dance yet one more time… and she fell in love with hip hop. Ever since then, Celeste has attended several hip hop workshops that have helped her mold her dance character, along with all the numerous dance styles she already knew. She has also been part of Florida International University’s Golden Stars, the school’s dance squad, where she polished her performance skills facing thousands of students at football pep rallies and university events. Celeste’s dance background and Miami’s cultural richness contributed to her unique style and personality imprinted in every single one of her dance moves.
Celeste’s incessant ways allowed her to see dance everywhere she went to, which led her to discover dance in a totally different environment: the fitness world. She rapidly fell in love with the idea of combining both dancing and working out to help others get fit and have fun at the same time. She quickly got certified by Dancelab Inc as a DanceTribal Lab dance Instructor and since 2008 she has been working at different gyms including Premier Health and Fitness, Equinox, Florida International University, LA Fitness and Fit Source Gym for Women. She also gives private lessons to those interested in perfecting their acquired skills in class.
On top of her fitness classes, Celeste has also had the experience to exploit her talents in the entertainment world. She has been a featured Bollywood dancer in “Combing Through Life’s Tangles the Musical,” worked with celebrated artists Eddy Lover, Macano and La Factoria, and featured in Dancelab’s DVD Fitness series.
Celeste has widened her dance horizons by incorporating Bollywood and Bellydance moves into her repertoire of dance styles. She is currently part MyBollywoodStudio.com’s Bollywood dance group, composed of twelve professional dancers from all over the world.
Celeste is presently working towards a B.A. in Biology at Florida International University, and is expected to graduate Spring 2011.
